BURGERS FOR GOURMET

Steak 'n Shake is a common American brand that offers premium quality steak burgers, hand-cut fries and hand-made milkshakes. Steak 'n Shake has more than 530 restaurants in the United States, and we are actively looking for franchise partners to contribute to our successful network development in Europe.

BEST since 1934 YEAR

In 1934, the Steak 'n Shake company came up with the concept — “the best burger”, where the steak burgers are not made from ordinary crushed meat, but hand-cut steaks. Since then, the brand has become one of the most recognizable and loyal in the restaurant business. In the minds of clients, Steak 'n Shake is always related with the perfect freshness and high quality of all products.

QUALITY THAT CLIENTS CAN SEE

We purchase only selected ingredients of the highest quality. All our burgers are made to order. We create each dish right in front of our customers, so they can see that the top product they buy is fresh and of high quality.

Gus Belt founded Steak 'n Shake in February 1934. With high quality glass and china dishes and reasonably priced friendly waiters, Gus was able to achieve the planned changes and the ever-increasing demand for his establishment's services.
His first steps were to buy a chain of restaurants in central Illinois called the Goal Post and transform those establishments into Steak 'n Shake. Then he added car service, as there was an endless line at each restaurant.

The reason Steak 'n Shake remains successful today is because of its consistent, quality service and high quality food. The steak burger is made with the premium meats and then turned into a remarkable meal using a very hot grill. Steak 'n Shake has the finest milkshake on the planet, made from the finest natural milk. Gus Belt often displays his Multi-Mixers in the windows of his restaurants, provoking passing motorists to try this amazing milkshake.
In European countries, some cafes and restaurants adopt the experience of American chains by buying catering equipment from the United States, which experiences customs clearance in accordance with the established procedure.

Gus Belt sold his first permit in the late 1930s. Other franchise establishments soon emerged in St. Louis, Indianapolis, Northern Illinois, Dayton Beach and Hot Spring, Arkansas. In 1969, the Belts sold Steak 'n Shake. In the 1970s, the company changed owners twice more. In 1981, the total number of its establishments exceeded 130 units.
In 1981 this company was acquired by E.W. Kelley and Associates. Mr. Kelley remains Chairman of the Board of Directors today. Kelly is considered the modern-day founder of Steak 'n Shake for his marketing skills. Kelly redefined the original concept, realizing that people today want what they wanted in 1934. Kelly also realized that a successful brand must evolve to put up the needs of today's consumers. And in 1990, Steak 'n Shake started growing again. The company currently has over 400 restaurants in 19 states and over 55 franchised restaurants.
